At P(h)easants, every piece carries weight. I present our first iteration — it's a homage to Ethiopia, the one African nation that was never colonized, worn on the backs of a people reclaiming what was always ours: dignity, majesty, and the right to define ourselves.
Our debut collection honors Emperor Haile Selassie I and Empress Menen Asfaw — sovereigns whose legacy still moves through Pan-Africanism, through Rastafari, through every descendant of the diaspora who understands that our story didn't start in chains. It started on thrones.
The name says the rest. P(h)easants — drop the h and it's the people history tried to keep small. Keep it and it's the game hunted for sport by empire. One bracket, one letter, and the whole hierarchy gets put on notice: we were never meant to just survive it.
